In October, traditionally, before the start of the new season, our Christian Floorball Club “SKY” holds a grand opening of the season, to which we invite players from all teams, that is, different categories of children, teenagers and young people who play floorball with us. As always, we played games with them, held competitions, drank tea with cookies and listened to a Bible lesson. But this year there was something special, because at the holiday we presented our new emblem and a new uniform for the senior team. This caused cool emotions and impressions in many. On the new emblem we placed a biblical verse – Philippians 3:20, which says that our life is in heaven, which echoes the name of our club. This is the point we strive for and where we can get only through faith in the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ for our sins. And from where we expect His coming. This year we were pleased with the presence of a large number of parents at the holiday, who also listened to the Word and with whom we could chat during the break and after the holiday. And after the holiday, we held a parent meeting, where we explained the essence of our club, why we do this, on the basis of what, and shared the Gospel with parents.

And a week after the grand opening of the season, its competitive opening took place, and for several teams in different places at once. Two of our teams under 12 and one team under 15 went to the city of Zdolbuniv for the 1st round of the Christian Edge League. And one team under 16 went to the 1st round of the Ukrainian Championship. These were completely different trips. One of the younger teams in Zdolbuniv took part in the competition for the first time, and the guys who have been practicing in the club for about 5 years went to Lviv, where they played for two days. But the goals of these trips are the same – to build relationships with children, to show them Christ, to tell them about Him, and of course, to motivate them to continue playing floorball so that they can hear about God and get to know Him even more.

And a week later, another of our teams of children under 14 went to Lviv for their 1st round of the Ukrainian Championship. This was the first time we had fielded a team in this category in the Ukrainian Championships. For them, it was a difficult debut against strong opponents and a good experience. And also two great days with the coaches and the team, walks around the city, conversations, as always, studying the Word, on the basis of which we can talk about their hearts, reactions, desires, and lives in general.
