«For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope on your name, for your name is good» Psalm 52:9
Please, Pray for the Schoolchildren Who Hear God’s Word.
The Hope to People staff member Ruslana Kovalchuk keeps teaching Bible at the Rivne Ukrainian High School as well as at the Klevan orphanage for the kids with impaired vision.
She asks to pray for all the children who listen to God’s Word, for the wisdom in the ways and methods how to teach the visually impaired and blind kids, for the finances to purchase materials to make special handout materials which could be used and touched by the visually impaired kids. She worries for the orphanage graduates and blind orphans. Please, ask God to take care of their future.
Word to a Teacher Was Presented at the All-Ukrainian Family Forum
The fourth All-Ukrainian Family Forum took place at “The Ukrainian House”, Kyiv, on the 1st of March, 2019. Arkadiy Slyoza, staff member of the Hope to People, attended the event. Its main purpose was coordination of the efforts of Christian churches, public organizations, and authorities, aiming at popularization and protection of Christian family values.
There was an opportunity during the Forum to present our Christian magazine Word to a Teacher. Many people came to acquaint themselves with our publication and subscribed right there at the table. It was nice to see our partners and friends from the Eastern European Outreach and others who share our vision.
Reaching Children Through Puppet Shows
Children from orphanages enjoy it when older kids do puppet shows for the younger ones. Statistically, the influence of puppet show on a kid’s worldview is much higher than the influence of cartoons. Valentyna Bondarchuk, a staff member of the Hope to People, has been convinced of it while meeting with children at the orphanages of Mizoch, Verba, Tuchyn, Novostav. During such show, it is easy to share the Gospel with kids in their language. The shows themes were friendship, love, forgiveness, making decisions, protection of the environment, etc.
We are thankful to God for being able to serve along with the family of John and Marilyn from the Second Presbyterian Church, Memphis, USA.
Puppets themselves cannot praise God, of course, but they are used to share the Gospel and to glorify God.
Warm greetings from Central Asia
A small home church in Central Asia send their warmest greetings with love. Ukrainian missionary family inform us how grateful they are to God for the people who have become so dear during this year.
Bible study in this country is usually done at home. Ministry to families is developing successfully due to the influence of the Word and a good example of the family relations of our missionaries. They were able to witness healing and restoration of families that they served and now they are friends. God expands their boundaries, families reunite, build relations in a new Godly way. They become examples for others and it is the best part, praise the Lord for this!
Ministry in Warsaw
Brothers and sisters in Warsaw keep meeting and praising God. Brother Oleksandr Il’yin praises God for all He does in his life. This minister was able to attend two missionary conferences in Ukraine and Italy. The Lord has encouraged him to be more effective in sharing the Gospel.
He had some new acquaintances and strengthened older relations with brothers who serve as pastors in different Russian-speaking churches in Poland. If the Lord allows, they will have regular meetings for prayer and mutual encouragement. We can do more together!
They have home Bible studies where they study verse by verse which enables them to reflect on the Gospel and how to apply it in their lives. Our youth meetings bring us special joy! Young people are more and more open. There was a great conversation with the boys during the last meeting. Praise God for such grace! Please, pray that the Lord will send workers to this field as well.
God’s Word to a Pagan Nation in Armenia
Our ministers in Armenia ask to pray for their visits to the Kurd and Yazidi villages with the purpose of reaching and also encouraging of the new believers. They visit Vanadzor where they started to serve orphans and socially vulnerable people.
Brothers are thankful for the materials given by our friends Michou&Pierre Blond from the mission that distributes Biblical audio materials in different languages, Audio Vie Belgique. People in remote places can use the device that does not require power to listen to the Bible, Christian hymnals, and other materials in their own language. It is especially valuable for Kurdish Christians who traditionally have been limited in the access to education and reading.
