“A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”

Proverbs 17:17

In June, our mission was visited by old friends from the Slovak Republic from the mission of Bible translators The Word for the World and Cirkev Bratska Hermanovce nad Topľou — Pierre van Vuuren and Slavomir Krupa. The brothers spent some time meeting with our employees and seeing with their own eyes what kind of ministries are actively taking place in the city of Rivne, and learning about the services of Christians in Ukraine.

They conveyed words of encouragement from their church, brought humanitarian aid for people affected by the war, and expressed their interest in further cooperation. Pierre and Slavomir are especially interested in serving teenagers and young people, as well as serving military personnel directly on the front lines and helping widows of fallen soldiers.

Therefore, areas of future cooperation will include mutual encouragement and prayer support, personal visits to Ukraine, ministry to displaced people and other victims of war, development of a chaplain’s ministry, cooperation in long-term care of elderly and infirm migrants living in our country campsite, and camp service.

We are sincerely grateful to the Slovak Church as well as brothers Pierre and Slavomir for their open hearts to serve Ukrainians, and for their journey to a war-torn country. We are sure that Christ would have done the same! We pray that this terrible war will be over as soon as possible and that we will not have to deal with such difficult matters – we wish we had our joint ministry after the war for children, youth, family camps, evangelism, and joint activities where we will glorify with joy our Lord Christ together.
