On the last week of August church “Community of the Good Shepherd” conducted a youth English camp called “Choice”. The interesting fact was the list of participants of the camp, because there were people who could barely get to the camp (there were even people from Kiev region). But God has brought the people He wanted to see there. The camp was not very large (about 25 people) and there was family atmosphere. We were able to share our experiences and what God has revealed to us.

During these days youth had the opportunity to take English lessons to improve their level of knowledge, as well as to explore the theme “How to make the right choice, which you are not going to regret about?”. This topic is very relevant for all people, especially for youngsters, as they are now doing a lot of choices that affect the rest of their life. We looked at the choices that King David had made in his life, the implications of these choices and his repentance before God in these decisions. We looked what choices did the other Jewish King Josiah, who, despite all obstacles, followed God and God used him to change the whole society of the country and their worship. We have also compared choices that Adam and Eve had made with the choices made by Jesus Christ. We have realised what the consequences of disobedience and obedience to God’s Word are. Finally, we have learned, thanks to Whom we can make the right choices in our lives – the Holy Spirit, Who can be given to us only by God, when we realize our sinfulness and take Him into our hearts, Who cleans and washes our hearts.

Every day we learned more and more about God and tried to put into practice the truths that He revealed to us.

Surprisingly for all of us we started to play a game in the evenings, where each participant of the camp was asked three questions. Each time the questions have become more serious. It was a very good time to analyze your life, because we ourselves were afraid to ask many of these questions.

It is very pleasant that in this camp, two guys (Andrew and Elijah) after God has touched their hearts, seeing the example of the relationship in church, have made the final choice to follow the Lord and to give Him their lives.

Big gratitude to God for the camp, which He has held, for the format of the camp, for the family atmosphere, for His Word, which was studied, for everyone who was in the camp, and that God has worked with each heart individually and has changed these hearts.
