From 28th of May until the 1st of June 2012, children Christian day-camp with the topic “Life is not a game, but very like it” took place in Rivne Ukrainian Gymnasium. Every day, about 50 children from 5-7th grades were coming to the day-camp. Most of them, throughout the academic year participate in a volunteer Christian ethics class (Ruslana Kovalchuk is the teacher). The day camp included Bible classes, worship songs, different hobby activities: crafts, drama, music, and sports. During the last day of camp, children were participating in the market at which children could buy different things for themselves (school utensils, sweets) for money, which they earned for active participation and good behavior.
Children’s responses:
“Christian day-camp is a great idea because we hear about God and make new friends” (Ira)
“I enjoyed day-camp very much. I learned a lot about God, and learned songs about Him. I learned to pray” (Sofia)
“I am thankful for your help in getting closer to God. I learned by heart many Bible verses, which I can use in my life. I am thankful to God for helping us to start the summer holidays in such a great way.” (Veronika)
Pray about the pedagogy and students of this gymnasium, for the desire to seek God and read His Word.”
