Day Christian camp for the students of the 5th – 8th grades of the Rivne Ukrainian Gymnasium was held from May 30 through June 8, 2017.
The camp theme was “Heart Reformation”. God brought about 40 children and 7 instructors worked with them. The camp was from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. and during that time kids were able to play different games, attend activity classes, but the most important in this was that we all had a special time of worship, we sang Christian songs, learned Bible verses, and had Bible lessons.
The main purpose of the camp was to share about Jesus Christ Who can reform their hearts for them to live for His glory and to show that the biggest reform of Jesus Christ was the teaching about love; to instill the virtues which will help the students to become true Christians; to develop the desire to live according to the commandments of Jesus Christ.
Every day the kids had a camp game and Bible quizzes and thus kids were able to become closer to each other, find friends, and to apply the knowledge they got during the Bible lessons. Here are several comments about the camp:
“After the camp, it seems my soul has changed. I understand that only Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He is always with me. I thank all who organized and ran this camp”
(Veronika, grade 5).
“God has reformed my heart, that is I have begun treating my parents better and I have come to an understanding that the Church is not a building but the people who believe in God. I really liked the camp games and the music class
(Maksim, grade 5).
“This camp has given me a lot of information about God and it made me think about it; the camp has also given me a lot of LOVE and acceptance. Thank you all who gave funds for the camp and who prayed for us”
(Yegor, grade 5).
“I thank God for being able to spend the beginning of my summer at a Christian camp and not in the Internet as always. There were kind and merciful people around me in the camp. They helped me know God more. I can truly say that a little reformation of my worldview has happened at this camp. I understood that Church is not just a building, but a place where people have to unite around God’s Word and God Himself. I am thankful to God for a wonderful crafts class that we had in the camp where I had made a lot of items”
(Angelina, grade 9).
