July Christian camp for students, orphanage graduates with the participation of team from Nikopol

Education Department of IPO “Hope to People” together with the Second Presbyterian Church from Memphis, have been organizing and conducting the Christian camps for students and orphanage graduates for more than 10 years

Camp program is designed so that it was possible to bring the Gospel, to know Jesus Christ, to show how God created everything by his word: mountains, rivers, waterfalls, thermal water, to visit the historical places of the Carpathians, and to make the heart analysis on the basis of God’s Word. The team consists of people, who constantly serve these children, students. The important thing is that we invite 80% of children, who know us and each other. It’s easier to build the relationship. Students are open and testify about their lives, asked to pray for their problems. In this camp they listen to two seminars: “Prayer of Jabez” and “Studying Habits”.

Students made a lot of gifts for themselves and for friends during the crafts time. Marilyn and John actively participate in the organization of the Christian camp. They brought backpacks, T-shirts, shorts, sportswear and other clothing for students. A team from Nikopol was actively involved in the praise and worship on the evening and morning services. John and Yuri Yakovlevich preached clearly. They told the Gospel in the preaching. Students did an analysis of their hearts through sermons, hymns, songs and testimonies. In private conversations they told their needs and problems, confessed to be sinful and asked for forgiveness from God.

“… This camp was useful to me. Seminar “Prayer of Jabez” touched my heart, I realized that I do not have to neglect prayer. Very often I relied on the fact that there is no time to pray, or I think that I can handle everything by myself, in some situations, I thought, why should I bother God with trifles. I realized that there are no small things for God. But I’m just scared to trust my heart to God, the fear keeps me from trusting God. I feel God’s support in my life, and I think that soon I will live with God in my heart. Thanks to sermons I started to think about many things. Why do I live? How long will I live? We thank God that in this camp Alena, Sasha and Vasya accepted the Lord into their hearts. After the summer camp Alena and Sasha were baptized. Look forward to further joint ministry to orphans and orphanage graduates and children, who are in difficult situations.
