In April of 2013, eleven American brothers and sisters from three different states (Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas) came to Ukraine with a noble mission – to provide medical help to orphans and children from complicated families. They worked in Oleksandria for four days. During this time, they diagnosed, consulted, and provided dentist treatment for about 200 children from orphanage and foster home.

Local medical workers have seen high professionalism, good organization, and self sacrifice of their foreign colleagues. Children were thankful for attention, friendliness, and patience. Those who were afraid, were calmed down, and shown and explained the equipment purposes. After treatment, children received recommendations regarding medicine and meals. When the team had spare time, they played with younger children, and gifted toothpaste, toothbrushes, and pretty Bible bookmarks, which were prepared by Memphis Sunday school, to everyone.

The schedule was very busy. Regardless, the dentist team visited the church “Spring of Life” on Sunday, 14th of April. After that, they went to have warm communication with the Bondarchuk family (Valentina and Oleksandr are taking care of 11 boys, who are orphanage graduates and study in trade schools and universities).

During one of the evenings, the American team prepared dinner and invited the Bondarchuk family. The valuable part of this mutual dinner was prayer about the children’s needs.

The other day, our guest together with students and teachers of Oleksandria orphanage visited the picture exhibition “World masterpieces about our Savior” in the school museum. During this short period of time, they made friends with teachers and orphanage medical workers. They left a lot of medicine and medical equipment for the orphanage.

They also gifted baseball bats, clothes, and gloves to train baseball. They also made gifts for children who were in need of sports clothes and shoes. They gave children shorts, t-shirts, and snickers.

Team members emphasized that God have sent them love to Ukraine and that all they do is for God’s glory.

The Bible reading and prayer before working day, relationships between team members, and ministry to the children were a good example for all people. They showed light of Jesus.

The mission “Hope to People” considers it to be an honor to cooperate with such a team and is ready to support such ministry.
