We are grateful to God for the fruitful cooperation with the administration and teaching staff of Klevan Special School #1, which has been going on for over 20 years.
Our employee and teacher by profession, Ruslana Kovalchuk, teaches Christian ethics classes in school, and also organizes children’s holidays for Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving, Christian day-camps, musical and dramatic Christian performances with the participation of children, and individually helps those in need.
Educational events held at Klevan Special School #1 are always crowded, because guardians, students’ parents, and guests usually show up, and then the Gospel is shared with all of them.
Thanksgiving on November 20, 2025, took place on World Children’s Day, and it truly took place for the glory of God and the joy of people. But it was not without its incidents. We live in times when an air-raid alert goes off, or an emergency power outage can suddenly occur. At the very beginning of the holiday, the lights in the school went off. All the organizers of the holiday immediately started panicking, because the school auditorium was already packed with students from grades 1–4, teachers, and parents of the students.
Ruslana Kovalchuk suggested that her colleagues pray to our Lord Jesus Christ to perform a miracle in this situation. After praying, while the emergency power was being connected, God placed the Word of God on sister Ruslana’s heart, with which she addressed the audience. She had the opportunity to explain what Thanksgiving means, who Christians are, and what their mission is on earth. She concluded her speech with the words of Jesus Christ: “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). At that very moment, the lights on the stage came back on, everyone present thanked God together, and the holiday began.
Third-graders played their roles like real actors, even though among them there are children with developmental delays, autism, and those who can barely see anything.
