Pastor of the church”Light of Gospel” in Kyzyl, Republic Tuva, Victor Zagvozdkin and his family share the gospel in a Buddhist-shamanistic culture. God blesses this church with saved souls of Russian speakers, as well as from indigenous Tuvan people. Already there has appeared brothers, able to serve and preach the Word, as in the local church and in the village of Ak-Dovurak. There is also a bible group in Aryg-Uzuu. Victor tries to develop the service and despite the great distances between settlements in this region often attends meetings in Ak-Dovurak, where he noted positive growth in the Word minister Aias Oorzhak and his wife Saylyk. He studied at the School of Bible preaching. Now he is investing a lot of time and effort in the development of the church. Besides serving brother Victor constantly works with his hands fully ensuring the life of his family, and helping those who have the need. His wife and eldest daughter seriously dedicate themselves to serving too. The family has four children, the youngest daughter is now 4 years old.
This year, Victor’s family has faced a serious challenge. Victor’s strongly concave chest from birth and the traumas of many years back injury during a car accident started to cause troubles. Recently a strong shortness of breath and chest pain appeared. Victor had to go through a lot of examinations (tests, ultrasound, MRI, x-rays, etc.). Conclusion of Physicians is sclerosis of the lungs. The bones of the chest began to grow inside with age, leading to a strong compression of the heart and lungs. The heart does not run smoothly because it’s sandwiched between the spine and chest. But the heart is not important, the upper portions of the lungs are not disclosed and has “imploded”. Because of this, the lung tissue has changed, it should be soft and airy, and now it has turned into a “solid piece of meat”, which has led to pulmonary sclerosis. Hence, shortness of breath and severe strain on the heart. Victor has been living with it for many years and has never thought it will reflect so much on the state of his health. Now he suffers severe pain in the chest at times. It is not clear whether it is the lungs ache, or bone compresses. His heart began to feel beating on ribs. And the last two months fingers, then hands have become numb. Waking up, he has to knead them, otherwise he doesn’t really feel them. Victor attributes this to the fact that the heart doesn’t work at full capacity which leads to poor blood circulation, because the hands are cold.
The first alarm sounded from his wife Lena. She asked about similar cases and eventually via the Internet reached the State budgetary institution health of Moscow Region – Moscow Regional Research Clinical Institute. Lena found a doctor, sent him a photo of the chest and Victor’s extract from the hospital with the diagnosis. The doctor looked at it and said that the operation should be done as quickly as possible. However they had to wait all summer, as the entire schedule was filled, and now they are waiting for their turn on December 10, in winter. They were looking for the closer clinic in Novosibirsk or Krasnoyarsk, but it turned out that there are not done such operations. The surgery itself goes this way: to sawn the chest and insert the pin from a special metal that rectifies the chest, then two weeks of rehabilitation in hospital.
Victor trusts God and does not fuss. He doesn’t try to jump over his head, because everything is in the hands of the Lord, and there is hope that everything will succeed. Although the operation requires, as you know, considerable costs over $ 5000. The family is considering to sell the car, the one in which Victor makes his visits to the believers in the villages. They bought a one-way plane tickets to Moscow, they did not take back ones, because it is not known how long they are going to be there. It is likely that with the parents will fly the youngest daughter. They plan to stay in Moscow in such a way: Victor will be in the hospital where he has to arrive early (Dec 4), but the family will have to find accommodation in relatives in the suburbs. Victor, having need, didn’t bother anybody, so as fast as we’ve learned about his disease, we appeal to you for help.
Please support Victor and his family. Pray also for the church, his staying on treatment and successful outcome of the operation. If you have the opportunity to serve Victor with other means except your prayers, please contact us and we will provide you the contact details of Zagvozdkin family.
