An anniversary prayer seminar took place this past weekend at Zalissya. For ten years churches of our association have been gathering together to pray for each other, for missionaries, and for their own churches. During every seminar we learn what prayer is, where to take strength for the prayer, and how to pray in the right way.
We see that the deficit of sincere and deep prayer has been and, unfortunately, will always be. Prayer is in decline in the modern world. If we seriously go into praying and understand its power, we will have a chance to pass its value to other generations. God’s Word should renew our attitude towards prayer. In the study process we understand the meaning of prayer. Prayer really is saturated with God’s presence and His power. Studying the Scriptures and prayers of the apostles and men of faith, we learn what we should pray concerning us, church, and the world.
We studied the passage from Ephesians 3:14-21 during the seminar. The main concern of Apostle Paul was that God’s power will change our character and grow our inner being. Now we have to ask ourselves why we should strengthen and nurture our inner being. When the Lord enters our heart, He shows us mountains of dirt and garbage which once seemed to be something very valuable. He transforms our heart into a beautiful place and does it all for Himself, because He will own it and will live there forever. Therefore Paul prays and asks for strength to stand all these changes and conversion done by Christ. It it through the prayer that we receive such strength.
Our Christianity does not end in confession, Christianity is a real life. We should not only know the truth but also implement it in real life. But it is very hard and almost impossible to do it alone. We need prayers, support, and care of each other.
This is exactly what we did last weekend: we prayed, supported each other, comforted, and encouraged. Then in the evening we sang till midnight.
Never miss the opportunity to have fellowship with believers!
