People passed by: some did not notice, some accidentally stepped on it, some saw it but did not consider it necessary to pick it up. They said, “It is lying, so let it lie around.”

But one woman nevertheless bent down and picked up the lost thing. It turned out that this document was the only ticket issued in Ukraine to orphans and children deprived of parental care during their studies in state educational institutions. It belonged to a girl, a student at a vocational lyceum located in a nearby settlement.

The woman looked around – there was not a single teenager nearby. Then she started thinking to herself: “What should I do? Should I leave it on the bench? Or should I take it to the store? Should I print a note and tape it up in the area?” And all of a sudden, she remembered that her friend, a teacher of Christian ethics, often visits that town. What if I give it to her?

She put the document in her pocket and went about her business.

A few days went by. It got warmer outside, winter clothes gave way to spring ones. The ticket lay quietly in the pocket of a down jacket hanging in the closet until the woman remembered it again. Over time, the document was passed on from one person to another, and here it ended up in the hands of the teacher.

“But I teach at a completely different school!” She was surprised, but after being puzzled a little, she decided to try to find the owner. She called the lyceum, introduced herself as an employee of the Hope to People mission, and reported the found ticket. The principal confirmed that it was their student. And then he suddenly asked:

— If you share hope with people, why don’t you come over to us? We need hope, too.

This question both surprised and moved the teacher. She knew the One who gives true hope, and she was ready to share it.

— We can come to you with an exhibition of paintings, “The Life of Jesus Christ in Works of Art,” she suggested.

— Please do, the headmaster immediately answered and named the date.

When that day came, a special atmosphere reigned in the auditorium of the lyceum, packed with teenagers — quiet, deep, full of light, faith, love, and hope. The description of each painting was accompanied by biblical stories that helped to better understand the meaning, feel the emotions, and spiritual power of the depicted events.

Through art, those present were able to touch eternal truths, reflect on values, and see familiar biblical plots in a new way.

The children listened with surprising attention and seriousness. And when the exhibition was over, they received Bibles and Christian literature as gifts.

Among them was the girl who had lost her ticket. As it turned out, she was not very worried about losing it… But perhaps something much more important will appear in her life because of this incident.

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!
