Recently, employees of the Christian mission Hope to People visited Ozhenyn Lyceum No. 2 of the Ostroh City Council of the Rivne region with an exhibition of reproductions of paintings by famous artists on the theme \u201cThe Life of Jesus Christ in Works of Art.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next day, in the Ukrainian language and literature lesson, the students were asked to write an essay-reflection \u201cMy Impressions of the Exhibition.\u201d The teacher knew her students’ personalities and abilities well, so she had certain expectations for their work. However, this time she was in for a pleasant surprise.<\/p>\n

David Gordevsky, a boy from a large Christian family who moved to the village of Ozhenyn from the village of Nyzhniy Sirohozy in the Kherson region during the war, was usually silent and withdrawn. They say about such people: you can\u2019t get a word out of him. There were no comments about his behavior, but he almost never spoke in class.<\/p>\n

And now the teacher reads his work and understands: this is the most meaningful and, at the same time, the most emotional of all the others. Apparently, the exhibition deeply impressed the boy. He carefully perceived both the artistic images and the guide’s story, and most importantly, the story of the life, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His impressions were expressed in sincere words:<\/p>\n

\u201cI remembered everything: from beginning to end.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe guide, Ruslana Anatolyevna, told about the life of Jesus Christ – from His entry into Jerusalem to the events after the resurrection. I was so interested in it that I wanted to listen to it again and again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was most impressed by the painting of the crucifixion of Jesus. It depicts how He gave His life for me and for all people to free humanity from sin and evil.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very impressed! I think that these paintings were set up for a reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Undoubtedly, David is right: such exhibitions are really held for a reason. They encourage visitors to break away from everyday life and reflect on eternal values, take care of their immortal soul, comprehend their destiny as a person created in the image of God, and dedicate their earthly life to serving God and people.<\/p>\n
