For many IDPs, pensions or social benefits barely cover the cost of renting housing. After paying for an apartment, there is often almost no money left for food or basic necessities. That is why our church has been regularly collecting and distributing food kits and hygiene products for several years. Today, approximately 350 people receive such assistance every month.

However, humanitarian aid has never been an end in itself for us. Each meeting is an opportunity to listen to a person, encourage them, pray together, and most importantly, share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Meetings with IDPs take place every Friday, and more than 70 people come to the meeting.

From Humanitarian Aid to Discipleship

In order for people to begin to grow in the knowledge of God, small Bible groups for displaced people were launched. By mid-2026, three such groups were already operating, with 29 registered participants. This is a great joy for our small community. People read the Holy Scriptures together, ask questions, learn to pray, encourage each other, and gradually become part of the church family.

Children’s Ministry

One of the greatest emphasis is on the ministry to the children of displaced people. Over the course of six months, we held 3 children’s meetings with gifts, games, and communication. An integral part of each such meeting was a performance by our puppet theater. All performances are structured in such a way that, through interesting stories, we explain biblical truths to children. After each performance, we definitely talk to the children about God, about sin, about the love of Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice for each of us. We sincerely believe that even a child’s heart is capable of hearing God’s voice.

Evangelism in Local Foundations

In addition to serving within the walls of the church, the Lord has opened up the opportunity for us to regularly visit local foundations that help displaced people. We hold such meetings once every 3 months. The foundation “We from Kamianske” has become especially close to us, with which we have been cooperating for over two years. Several times a year we bring food packages and hold meetings dedicated to spiritual matters.

Approximately 25 out of 35–40 attendees listen attentively to biblical reflections, participate in conversations, and openly ask questions about faith. For us, this is another reminder that God opens doors for the Gospel where people are going through difficulties.

Special Joy

Our community continues to live an active church life. We regularly gather for worship, prayer meetings, small groups, men’s and women’s fellowship. The celebrations of Christmas, Easter, and Church Day have become a special joy. It is during such holidays that many guests cross the threshold of the church for the first time, get acquainted with believers and have the opportunity to hear the Gospel.

One of the most touching events was baptism. One sister, who lost her home in Mariupol, has been visiting our church for over four years. During this time, she listened attentively to the Word of God, observed the life of the church, grew in faith and this summer testified to her decision to follow Christ through baptism. For the entire church, this became a great joy and another testimony of God’s grace.

Despite the war, difficulties and uncertainty, the Lord continues to build His Church, open doors for the Gospel and change people’s hearts.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who prays for us and supports our ministry.
