Valia Bondarchuk, of the educational department of \u2018Hope for People\u2019 participated in the 5 th\u00a0All Ukrainian academic competition \u201cYoung scholars of the Bible\u201d which was held on the premises of the\u00a0National University \u2018Ostroh Academy\u2019.<\/p>\n

The competition was held with the assistance of: the Ukrainian Department of Education, the\u00a0Ukrainian Department of Youth and Sport, and the Ukrainian Bible society. Nearly 200 pupils from\u00a0all over Ukraine competed on the birth-place of the Ostroh Bible. The competition lasted for two\u00a0days.<\/p>\n

Competition participants included pupils of the 1-11 forms who were winners of their school\u00a0competitions and who study the subjects of religious and ethical topics, such as: \u2018Ethics\u2019, \u2018The basis\u00a0of Christian ethics\u2019, \u2018Christian ethics in the context of Ukrainian culture\u2019, \u2018Man and The Universe\u2019,\u00a0and \u2018Man and Community\u2019. In addition, all those who signed in on the web-site participated too.\u00a0During the competition, pupils of the 1-4 forms exhibited their creative works (drawings,<\/p>\n

appliqu\u00e9 works, etc.) on the topic \u2018Every creature feels the need for love\u2019. The 5th form pupils\u00a0presented their essays on the topic \u2018The fight of Good and Evil in our lives \u2019; 6th form \u2013 \u2018Serving\u00a0as a response to worship\u2019; 7th form \u2013 \u2018The problem of choosing values in my life\u2019; 8th form \u2013\u00a0\u2018The similarity in the concepts of morality and right\u2019. 9th \u2013 11th forms worked over the project of\u00a0assistance for orphaned children, low-income families and other social groups that need help from<\/p>\n

the government. A special test was prepared for the pupils of 5th \u2013 11th forms that checked their\u00a0knowledge of the Scriptures, a discussion on the topic \u2018Christian moral values \u2013 the guarantee for a\u00a0righteous life and are there any alternatives in the 21th century?\u2019 and presentations of the developed\u00a0projects. The pupils of 5th \u2013 8th forms defended their works. The participants worried; facilitators\u00a0soothed them. Everybody who adopted the decision based on The Bible was a winner.<\/p>\n
