On November 23, 2019, in the premises of our mission, the next meeting with participants of Christian camps for children and youth who have no parents or are brought up in low-income and single-parent families took place. The theme of the meeting was \u201cIn the Beginning Was the Word of God.\u201d Mission employee, Ruslana Kovalchuk, held an exhibition for the youth \u201cThe Life of Jesus Christ in the Paintings of Well-Known Artists.\u201d During the presentation of paintings, she asked young people about their attitude to Jesus Christ and, if there’s a place in their hearts or in their life for Jesus Christ. We are very grateful to God that many of these children have already come to believe in the Lord, and some have been baptized.<\/p>\n

Mission employee, Arkady Slyoza, along with young people, read and had a general overview of the Book of Jonah. It tells about the prophet who heard the Word from God but decided to run away from God’s calling, and then during a severe storm, he was thrown by sailors into the water and was swallowed by a giant fish. After 3 days and nights, he prayed from the depths of the sea and turned to the Lord with faith, and after that, he was miraculously saved. Having fulfilled the commission given by God, at the end of the book he again showed his stubbornness, and God confronted him with an important question. Examining the book of Jonah, we turned to the gospel of Jesus Christ, who told the people living His time that the story of Jonah tells about Him, that Jesus will be buried, and then raised on the third day.<\/p>\n

In addition to abundant spiritual nourishment, we also had \u201cpizza party\u201d and pleasant fellowship over a cup of tea.<\/p>\n

We thank God for the opportunity to have such meetings with youth and for the encouragement from the God’s Word.<\/p>\n
