In late July and early August, the Church of Christ the Savior from Ivano-Frankivsk held a summer camp for teenagers and young people aged 16 to 21 in the village of Trukhaniv, Stryi district, Lviv region.<\/p>\n

For five days, 50 boys and girls reflected on the question: \u201cWhy Do We Pursue Happiness and What Does it Reveal to Us?\u201d The organizers of the camp aimed to share the Gospel with them and build and strengthen friendships, since almost half of the participants were from non-believing families.<\/p>\n

Young people in the camp were united in teams and communication groups, approximately 7 people each. It was in small groups that it was easier to build personal relationships and speak frankly about important topics.<\/p>\n

The camp program was very intense. Every day there were morning exercises, worship, sermons, discussions and lessons in groups, general camp games, free time and evening meetings. There were also creative workshops, board games, a hike in the mountains, and other joint activities.<\/p>\n

Here’s what one of the participants says about the camp:<\/p>\n

“This is my first time at the camp. I really liked the program; the only thing I didn’t like was that we had to go to bed quite early. At the camp, I learned that God is impartial and long-suffering. The Bible contains answers to all questions and speaks to each person directly. Thank you to the camp organizers for the creative approach.”<\/p>\n

“I found out about the camp through social media, and my mother supported my desire to go there. I liked the hike to the Dovbush Rocks, the delicious food, active games, and especially the night game. I didn’t like that I got a mini-trauma during the water games. At the Bible lesson, I learned that no one can give the kind of happiness that God gives. I’m very grateful to the camp organizers for everything!”<\/p>\n

During the four full days of the camp, the topic of happiness was examined gradually. The first day we discussed why people seek happiness and that this desire is God-given. The next day, we discussed the topic of \u201cLost Happiness\u201d and the consequences of living without God. The third day was devoted to the topic \u201cThe Happy God Wants Us to Be Happy,\u201d and the fourth day was devoted to how true happiness is restored through Jesus Christ and the Gospel. The last day, we discussed the practical level of life with Christ, repentance, and forgiveness. The main idea was that true happiness is not just some positive emotions or pleasant circumstances, but a state of heart that trusts God, accepts His mercy, and lives with Christ every day.
\nThe participants listened to sermons, participated in group reflections, and actively participated in discussions. Some tried to learn more about God and the Christian faith, asked questions, and opened up during personal communication.<\/p>\n

A special blessing was that two participants repented. This was one of the most valuable fruits of the camp and a great joy for the entire team. We pray that the sown Word will continue to bear fruit in the lives of all participants of this camp.<\/p>\n
