On the 9th-10th of April, 2014 was held The 7th All- Ukrainian Olympiad “Young Bible experts” at the National University of “Ostrog Academy”. Pupils of the 1-8 grades took part in the contest. They came from 11 regions of Ukraine: Volyn, Khmelnytsky, Rivne, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Odessa, Zaporozhye, Cherkassy, Donetsk, Lviv and Poltava.
Ihor Pasichnyk – Rector of the National University of “Ostrog Academy”, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Hero of Ukraine – welcomed the participants of the Olympiad.
Also young Bible experts were greeted by Vasily Zhukovsky – Doctor of pedagogical sciences, Professor, the dean of the Faculty of Humanities in the National University of “Ostrog Academy”, Volodymyr Marushchenko – the Chairman of the Public Council of cooperation with churches and religious organizations under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Svetlana Levitskaja – head of the Commission of Education, Science, culture and spirituality of the Rivne regional Council, Nikolai Plaksina Deputy Director of the All-Ukrainian Charity Fund “East European humanitarian mission”. Alexander Bondarchuk – the head of education department of the International Public Organization “Hope to people”, Master of Theology, Excellent Student of Public Education of Ukraine in his speech thanked God for the children who have a desire to study the Bible and for their parents who sent them to the right path, he wished them to be successful in the competition and to deepen their knowledge of the Word of God. There also sounded the greeting from the Christian Children’s Music and Drama Studio “Dzhereltse” from Zdolbunov, Rivne region (head – Angela Chudovets).
On the 15th-16th of May, 2014 are invited students of 9-11 grades of secondary schools, students of vocational schools and higher education institutions, winners of the regional and school Subject Olympiads, who study subjects of spiritual and moral directions: “Ethics”, “Basics of Christian ethics”, “Christian Ethics in Ukrainian culture”, “Ethics: spiritual principles”, “Man and the World”, “Man and Society” and others to participate in the contest “Young Bible Experts” as well.
The purpose of the Olympiad is to increase the students interest of the Bible; to bring up spiritually rich, nationally conscious person; to attract students to study courses of spiritual and moral directions; to inform the teachers society and parents about the subjects of spiritual and moral direction.
We wish peace, joy, success, patience in learning and sharing the Word of God to the younger generation to all the participants, parents and teachers.
