Amazing mountains, endless sky, beautiful nature of Transcarpathia once again have welcomed children at the Christian summer camp. From June 28 to July 7 students of boarding schools from Rivne region, orphans, and children from disadvantaged families as well as students of Kharkiv Christian School “The beginning of wisdom” had the opportunity to relax together and to study the Word of God.
Once again, the IPO Hope to People and the team from Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis held a children’s camp in Polyana, Transcarpathian region. The theme of the camp was to investigate the life of Joseph. On Bible lessons children discovered what could be the relationships in family, how to go through the difficulties, and how to remain faithful to God according to Joseph’s example. Many children have been at the camp not for the first time, so they listened to lessons and sermons with particular attentiveness.
Special part of the camp was daily excursions. There were small journey to a waterfall in Chynadiyevo, a trip to the castle in Mukachevo, to the sanatorium and swimming pools with thermal waters. The children were delighted with such trips. They actively participated in crafts, preparation of sketches, songs, presentation of Bible verses. It was a joy to watch how children’s hearts sincerely praise Jesus.
Counselors and staff had a good and close communication with the kids. Children were not afraid to ask about their concerns, to be open. They eagerly listened to the answers, and many of them were seriously thinking about their hearts and relationships with God.
At the end of camp John Whittemore, who preached every night, encouraged those who wanted to reconcile with God. 8 children accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and the Lord. Pray for these children that the Lord brings them up. The parents of these children are unbelievers and there is no local church in their town, so that they could go there. Therefore pray for place where they could meet with Ruslana Kovalchuk for the study of God’s Word.
Praise the Lord for this camp, for a blessed time of fellowship with the children. The glory of God is emitted all over around: in the beauty of the mountains, which He has created, in the children’s hearts, in the simplicity of their prayers, in unforeseen circumstances. Thank you all, who prayed for this camp, supported us and helped us.
Let the Name of the Lord be glorified in everything!
