Thanks to the help of our mission friends, our coworkers in Armenia were able to visit a lot of people with Christmas gifts and hold children’s Christmas meetings. First of all, these were needy people, single mothers, widows, refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh, and families who take care of the poor or have relatives seriously injured during the hostilities in Armenia.
We are grateful for your prayers for the missionary families of Sevak and Nina, Karo and Nvard, Araika and Duhik, as well as for the family of our Kurdish minister J. and his wife S. The Spirit of God continues to work in Armenia in the hearts of Armenians, Assyrians, and Yazidi Kurds.
In the village where brother Karo serves, a prayer group of Assyrian sisters gathers. They became friends with one woman whose husband had taken their young son away from her after the divorce, and she had not seen the child for 12 years. This mother asked to pray for God’s mercy and the restoration of their connection and the beginning of communication. Soon, that woman called our sister and said that a miracle had happened: her son himself came to her today. Thank God! He does not leave our prayers unanswered.
In a village near Yerevan, several families from Nagorno-Karabakh rented houses. Once, driving through that village, brother Sevak became familiar with them and began to visit them from time to time. A guard lived in one of the houses, but when the owner rented out the house to some people, the guard ended up on the street. Soon, Sevak learned that the man lives in the basement of a destroyed house and has been sick for several days and is so weak that he cannot even start a fire in a wood stove so he can warm up. Sevak went to him, brought medicine, lit a fire in the wood stove, and most importantly – shared the gospel with him and gave a New Testament. The man began to read the Word of God, quit drinking alcohol, and said that he was starting a new life. Pray for God’s work in his heart – we know that there are no coincidences!
