September 21, 2023, the day of the International Day of Peace, began in Ukraine with missile strikes, explosions, power outages, etc. But for the students of the Svitoglyad school, it was also the day of corporate prayer and reflection on the Word, as well as preparing a “parcel of peace” for the soldiers who defend us in the east of Ukraine.

In the Bible, a dove, released by Noah, brought him an olive leaf as a symbol of the emergence of dry land after the great flood.

Under the guidance of the expert of the local history museum, Ms. Svitlana Hryvyuk, each student of the school made a dove for the military, as a symbol of the fact that we are waiting for good news from the front line, we are waiting for our hero warriors, we are waiting for the dreamed PEACE.

Doves of peace, fly away… Fly!

Wrap our soldiers with wings!

Become strong steel shields

And tell them quietly:

– With you…

We are with you…

Many of us are with you!

We will be with you until Victory!

And our doves flew away to the front line from Svitoglyad! And our fathers-chaplains brought the Good News to the front line.

Yes, they settled in soldier’s quarters, scorched by the war. Birds perched in different places: on lampposts, flags; in dugouts, stabilization points, trenches, cars riddled with bullets… In short, settled in combat positions.

But most importantly, they found a home near the warm loving hearts of our Tireless and Unbreakable.

We believe that the doves of peace will definitely return with their owners to their homes and bring us good news about the Victory!
