Serving Displaced People in Zalissya

Internally displaced persons (IDPs) are people who, as a result of hostilities, occupation, or emergency situations, are forced to be evacuated from their hometowns.

50 displaced people from the war zone live at our Christian campsite in Zalissya. Most of them are elderly, infirm, and people with disabilities who need someone’s help.

Serving Military Personnel in the East of Ukraine

Thanks to your help, the employees of our mission, Vyacheslav Arterchuk and Arkady Slyoza, were able to make another trip to Donetsk region, in order to take humanitarian aid to the soldiers who defend our country in the Avdiiv and Bakhmut areas.

Our employees have meetings with men of various professions, most of whom were mobilized for military service at the beginning of the war or volunteered for military service in connection with the beginning of the war…

Trip to Kherson Region

As soon as we learned about the detonation of the dam by the intruders on the largest reservoir of the Dnipro River at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, we began to think about how to help the affected people in this region. Since we did not have specialized machinery and equipment for rescuing people on the water, we decided to wait a few days for the water to go down, and then we gathered food, basic things, and various humanitarian aid and set off in the direction of the Kherson region on a trip to explore what we can do there. An employee of the Christian Mission Hope to People and five volunteers from the Bible Missionary Church Community of the Good Shepherd in Rivne traveled by two minivans.

A Friendly Visit

In June, our mission was visited by old friends from the Slovak Republic from the mission of Bible translators The Word for the World and Cirkev Bratska Hermanovce nad Topľou — Pierre van Vuuren and Slavomir Krupa. The brothers spent some time meeting with our employees and seeing with their own eyes what kind of ministries are actively taking place in the city of Rivne, and learning about the services of Christians in Ukraine.

School Day Camp in the Rivne Lyceum “Ukrainian”

On June 5-8, 2023, a Christian day camp “WAY” was held on the territory of the Rivne Lyceum “Ukrainian,” where Ruslana Kovalchuk, an employee of the mission Hope to People teaches Christian ethics. The participants of the camp were students of grades 5 and 6, and young Christians from the Community of the Good Shepherd church and the Grace Church in Rivne served as mentors. Please pray that the Word of God, sown in the hearts of children, will bear good fruit in their future lives!

Football Camp “God Is the Warrior”

From June 12 to 18, 2023, employees of the sports department of the Christian Mission Hope to People held a military-related camp for boys aged 8 to 12 years.

The title of the camp was “God Is the Warrior.” The goal of the camp was to instill in youth a patriotic attitude based on the Word of God.

Victory of Christ

On July 3–6, a Christian children’s sports camp for the SKY Floorball team took place in the village of Kutyanka, Ternopil region. The participants of the camp were children aged 9 to 13. In total, there were 43 people including the team of leaders.

Learning to Trust

At the end of June, the church of our association Light of the Gospel in Kyiv held a children’s day camp in their daughter church in the village of Lyubartsy. There were about 60 children every day. Nine team members were so happy to serve children – it was difficult but it was fun! Everyone is very grateful to God that He protected them from shelling and there was only one air-raid alert during the entire camp.
