Greetings, friends! March was amazing for the students of Svitoglyad! It’s a pleasure to share the news.

#LOTS_OF_SOCKS

March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day.

Children with this syndrome are called “sunny” because they have a special perception of the world, which is through kindness, and tenderness towards everyone around them.

In order to support the “children of the sun,” the Svitoglyad/Worldview school joined the global flash mob “LOTS OF SOCKS” by purchasing socks of different colors. The funds collected from the sales were directed to the educational program of the NGO “Association of Parents of Disabled Children.”

Students of Svitoglyad also visited a school for children with disabilities to tell them: “Despite your differences, we are next to you.”

“Sunny” children deserve our attention, respect, and support!

THE SHEVCHENKO DAYS

We honor the memory of the great Kobzar, Taras Shevchenko, who would have turned 210 years old this year.

In Svitoglyad, students drew portraits of modern Kobzar and recited his poems to the bandura melody. Every word seemed to transport them to the glorious past. And the hearts experienced warmth through a common sense of unity, which permeated everyone, reminding us that we are one big family, successors of a great cultural heritage.

This event was not only an opportunity to celebrate the activity and creative work of Taras Shevchenko but also a celebration of Ukrainian culture and spirituality.

NIGHT VISION DEVICE FOR MILITARY

It all started with the dream of 3rd-grade students to help the military with the purchase of a night vision device.

Students drew a poster, placed an offering box in the school, and opened a jar for donations.

The children believed that one day this device would become a reality because additional “eyes” are extremely important for our soldiers.

And the dream has come true! Father Vlad completed the donation, helped to find it, and purchased the necessary equipment for the military.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this important activity!

EDUCATION IN A PHARMACY

Our young scientists visited a real chemical and pharmaceutical laboratory. They had the opportunity to try to be a pharmacist’s assistant and worked on molecular scales. We had a good chance to get some experience in the production of ascorbic acid.

Alla Rostislavivna (senior pharmacist-tour guide) was pleasantly surprised by the erudition of world-viewing intellectuals. She also emphasized the importance of connections between medicine biology and chemistry. Children will learn these subjects at school.

The day turned out to be as productive, educational, and informative as possible! And at the end, there was a tea party!

THE HOLIDAY OF THE RESURRECTION IN THE SVITOGLYAD

As we had the morning time with the pastor, each class participated in the recreation of the Easter story. Biblical texts came to life. Children staged the events of Jesus’ life from his entry into Jerusalem to his death on the cross.

We celebrated the Easter holiday together. Together we marveled at how Jesus who died opened his eyes again in the dark and silent tomb. Because He is not just a man and not an angel, He is God, who is the source of life.

Christ is Risen!
