The first all-Ukrainian congress of teachers on subjects of spiritual and moral direction took place on the23-25-th of June at the National University “Ostroh Academy”.
250 teachers from 24 regions of Ukraine arrived to the university, among them – the employees of the IPO “Hope for People” headed by the head of the education department, the delegate of the congress, Alexander Bondarchuk.
The congress began and ended with a prayer service in the student’s teaching church of St. Fedor Ostrogski “Ostroh Academy.”
The main attention was paid to the analysis of the state of spiritual and moral education in domestic preschool, secondary and higher educational institutions and the prospects of teaching the subjects of spiritual and moral direction in the context of the concept of the new Ukrainian school.
Also there was a conversation about the status of the teacher in the spiritual and moral direction, about the integration of materials of the spiritual and moral orientation in the teaching of general education disciplines, and so on. All delegates were unanimous in understanding the meaning and the need to support, preserve and deepen the spiritual component in the process of education.
The editorial board of the magazine “Word to the Teacher” had the opportunity to present and distribute the journal and they personally met many educators who are readers and correspondents of the magazine.
