Summer is a great time to rest but oftentimes, during our vacations, we are eager to go somewhere to the beaches to have a lot of fun or just to bask in the sun. But three young coaches from the Christian floorball team “SKY” decided to dedicate this time not so much to rest, but to intensive training in a special school.

For two months, Bogdan, Vlad and Diana had very active and productive time at Precept International Mission School of Floorball in Bucha, Kyiv region.

Here’s what Bogdan Fedorchuk, one of our coaches and student of the school, shared with us:

Every day except Sunday, we had an intensive schedule: 2 training sessions, Bible study, floorball theory, homework tasks and evening communication.

Also, the school program provided for two practical tasks. The first one was to prepare and arrange a day camp at some local church base of any city. This time, we were divided into 3 teams and sent out to three different cities: Chernivtsi, Pereyaslav and Khmelnytsky. We ourselves had to develop the camp program and to do an advertisement, we also went to the parks and shared with people about the floorball… Because of that we invited children to our camp. Morning training and Bible study of camp leaders with helpers was also a must. It was quite an interesting and useful time.

But the brightest time was still ahead of us. The second practical task was a mission hike. Basically, we were divided into several teams of 3-4 people and scattered over different villages within a radius of 100 km from Lutsk. Our task was to spend 2 nights in a village which was unknown to us, without food and money, to find a “house of peace,” in order to share the Gospel, to build relationships with people and to show the local children how to play floorball. And of course, no one canceled the morning training and quiet time with God. This was a time of complete trust in God, since there was nothing to depended on except God – people are not always as friendly as you expect them to be and circumstances do not turn out the way you would like them to be, as well as a place for the night could be very unusual. Praise the Lord! We thank God for this incredible time!

Finally, after returning to Bucha, we had a course on how to give the first medical aid. We received a certificate of completion, as well as a diploma of completion of the 1st year of study at Precept International Mission School of Floorball (there are 3 courses). Now, when we are at home, our task is to get new teams, go to the new schools in our city and share the Gospel with the children using the floorball as an effective tool. As usual, we need your prayer support so that God will give us the necessary strength and wisdom to make the most of the given time to serve Him.

Our coaches are very grateful to God for this opportunity to learn even in the summer, during the holidays and then immediately use this knowledge in everyday life. Two more sessions, full of interesting material, rich practice and God’s blessings, are ahead of them.
