At the end of October, the publishers and authors of the Christian, spiritual and educational journal “Word to the Teacher” held a regular editorial board. The meeting began and ended with a prayer to God.
We are very pleased that we were visited by doctors of pedagogical sciences from the city of Kyiv and from the city of Ostrog, Rivne region, as well as by pastors of the Rivne churches and workers of two Christian missions. At this meeting, we also became familiar with the Christian poetess and author of works for children Galina Levitskaya from the city of Izyaslav, Khmelnytskyi region.
In his address to the attendees, the editor in chief Taras Pristupa pointed out that the magazine is to be used as the bridge through which the Word of God is passed on to people who, in turn, have something to say to children. In fact, many people live today as if God was created for them. But He was from the very beginning, and He created us. That is why the most important thing people need is worship to God. To know God means to have eternal life, and this is the main idea that we should get across to people.
During the exchange of views, board members agreed that they should be more active in the presentation and distribution of the magazine. It should be presented at all educational events, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, visiting meetings of the Public Council on issues of cooperation with public organizations and churches at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in churches and through Internet resources.
The general theme of 2020 became Christian Virtues. It is important to show that the source of virtues is God Himself, but not the efforts of people. The topic should be covered through the prism of education because today it is relevant for both students and teachers. Since our journal is theoretical and applied, each virtue should be considered in different aspects: theological, psychological, methodological, interactive.
On November 29, 2019, a new meeting with teachers of Rivne, who were receiving “Word to the Teacher” magazine throughout the year, is planned.
We are grateful to God that He led us through during the whole 13 years of the magazine’s existence, and that despite the difficulties, the 50th jubilee-issue of the magazine is now being prepared for publication.
