Peace to you dear brothers and sisters! By the grace of God, we lived through another year. As I see it, the year turned out to be blessed, though it was difficult. I want to share with you about what God has been doing in my life.

There is a new ministry in Gvasugy. Sister A., who was baptized in August, begin to lead the Sunday children’s ministry. On Christmas holidays, brothers and sisters from the Korean church, offered gifts for Udege children, our church also responded to this proposal. I told Ivan and Sergey, to come to Vladivostok, so they could come and receive the gifts for people, there were around 40 of them collected. There were gifts for both children and adults. Our missionaries have arrived just before the New Year having some adventures on their way here. For some reason, it’s already been the third time in the last 7 months that on the way her the spring of the car just has cracked, this is a consequence of the taiga roads. Besides that, he needed resources to cover their transportation expenses. Our church from 24 to 25 celebrated Christmas, and at the end of the holiday I made an announcement about the need and we ended up collecting the necessary amount for the fuel. Ivan was repairing his car here in Vladivostok, but since a storm warning was announced, they could not leave as they planned on December 31. So they stayed with us for the celebration of the New Year here. They also had an opportunity to come over to my place for a birthday party that gave us another chance to fellowship and pray. They left on January 1, when the weather became calm.

It’s amazing that Ivan managed to overcome a distance of about 1000 km in 14 hours, driving on the icy winter road. In this situation, I also see the mercy of God. At the moment, the number of children that comes to the biblical club “Good News” has increased, there are already 12 people. According to Ivan, another person began to come to the Bible study.

In addition, God gave me the joy of leading three small groups – on Tuesday, Thursday and a new one on Saturday.

I surely wanted to come to Rivne in the church Community of the Good Shepherd for a missionary conference. I was happy that I bought tickets, relatively inexpensive, but God had in mind something totally different from our plans…

Everything has started unexpectedly on December 31, when the elevator in our building got switched off and several times I walked back and forth to the 9th floor. The last time I went upstairs, it became more difficult to breathe and something was pushing on my chest. As I went up to my floor, the blood pressure has gone down. At night, on January 2, “I found out where my heart is” and how it hurts. I had to call an ambulance, which sent me to the emergency center. I stayed in the hospital for nine days. The blood vessels were inspected, and the doctors said that I urgently need to have surgery, since all four aortas are clogged by more than 90%. Of course, this news did not please me at all, and my wife Svetlana was very worried.

I want to testify that as soon as you know that your life can stop any minute, the essence of prayer changes. There is no thought of rest, of some long-term plans. My desire is to communicate with Christ. For two nights I prayed for four hours in a row. By the grace of God, I had the opportunity to witness there in the ward to three men. Surprisingly, they asked me: “What is the Gospel?” God himself gave an opportunity to tell the most important thing that these people need, and so I did. In that situation, in a special care unit, people think about the meaning of life after all. This is a very good opportunity to think about God and the soul. In this situation, God blessed our young brothers Sergey and Kostya, they completely conducted the meeting on January 7, as I was in the hospital, and pastor flew to Smolensk to deal with the illness of his mother-in-law. I thank God for the boldness and firmness of the brothers.

In the photo you see a children’s club in Gvasugy and our small group, which meets on Thursdays. May God bless you!

Sincerely,
Yury Morokhovets.

P.S.: Thanks to everyone for your prayers, the surgery for Yuri Morokhovets was successful, it lasted 5 hours, Lord let him to become the government will allocate a quota (subsidy) for the operation. We ask you to make prayers for Yuri Morokhovets, so he will have a long period of health recovery.
