(interview with missionary Yevgenij Begletsov)

What is happening in Kalmikija, particularly, in your church?

We did not have a massive awakening in the republic, nobody was raised from the dead, and nobody was healed in an unusual way. However, the great miracle is that God is with us. He speaks to us through His Word and changes us from the inside through the Holy Spirit. He blessed the church to live past winter in warmth and comfort; we don’t have any debts before the government. This is the fact regardless of the small amount of people in the church. We were able not only to support ourselves, but also invest in the development of the ministry. Brothers and sisters grow spiritually, they are willing to participate in church life, and this is a miracle. One can see how great our God is!

What is God teaching your family?

God continues to humble us and clean our hearts from different sins. These days, I can see the disgust of the sin more than ever. It brings disappointment, but in the same time, I praise our Lord for the saving Gospel every day. (1 John2:1,2).

The realization that Jesus drank the cup of God’s wrath for my sins, which brings me to repentance and humbles me before God. It also causes anger toward sin and I feel sad that I hurt my God.

Generally speaking, we live our lives realizing what Jesus did for us.

How are your children?

We are grateful for these two “miracles,” Zhenya and Sveta, who grow up and develop in our sight. God give them mercy and true repentance.

What are involved with in church?

Our Lord blessed us to continue our Bible study group, which our beloved sisters attend. We are happy that two brothers joined them.

“God’s names” help us to learn more about our Lord, His nature, and character.

Every Sunday, we have mutual time, during which we worship our Lord. We are using musical equipment. We learn to listen to God’s Word and be obedient.

We continue to study “Sexuality in the light of the Bible” with teenagers. I want so much to make these children love the Bible, but I understand that it is possible only for God. I beg Him to give them life and feed them with His Word. I want them to able to read it properly on their own.

By God’s mercy, we have a club “Future”, at which children can study the Bible and learn Bible verses by heart.

God blesses us to continue ministry in the orphanage. We played games with children, and then we got to know them and told them about God. Our friends from Volgograd helped us to do this.

We are meeting people to read a wonderful book “Gospel for real life.” Currently, we meet with three people. We want to start new Bible study groups this way, but don’t have enough time now.

Nadia continues to meet with women, where they read the book “Wonderful wife.”

We see God’s miracle in all of this and His work. Even though sometimes we want to take credit, we understand that it is all for God’s glory. He shows our sins and frees us with His truth.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  (2 Corinthians12:9).

To be dependent on God and need Him everyday is not weakness, but strength!

God bless you dear friends in knowing Him and humble youselves before Him through “Everyday Gospel (1Corinthians 9:26,27; Romans1:16,17).

With love, the church “Communion of Christ the Savior” and the Begletsov family.
